The Simon Bolivar metropolitan park is one of the oldest and significant parks in bogota; This has hosted important outdoor events also the last 2 popes ( Pablo VI and Juan Pablo II) has come to that park to make congregations.
The park counts with peatonal and bike rutes called ciclovias, wich has been implemented by the Major Enrique Peñalosa; Also count with parking lots and a huge square for over than 140.000 attendants for the different events that have place there (concerts, sports etc.).
The park construction starts in 1996 and right now is the one with more attractions in Bogota. Count with several green zones around the Lake, located in the middle of the park and in wich one some water activities have place like Kayac.
