Description of Tour:
The tour starts with the visit to the Planetarium, situated in the International Center of the city in an area called: la Macarena, one of the most calm and bohemian neighborhoods in Bogota. The Planetarium is filled with interactive activities introducing a great variety of astronomy- themed material. Through a great mechanical and electrical team, the mind blowing scenery of the skies above as seen from different parts of the world is recreated. Experience the universe and skies from a whole new perspective through 160 projectors which portray the wonders of the universe, the sun, and the stars.
Within the Planetarium, you will find a Theater of Stars, the Museum of Bogota, the ancient Museum of Urban Development, Galleries of Santa Fe, and the Oriol Rangel Room which is part of a series of showrooms ideal for temporary exhibitions. You do not want to miss of the wonderful experience offered by this one-of-a-kind location which also includes a gift shop and a modern café-Internet.
After a lovely visit to the Planetarium, we shall continue on to the Botanical Gardens/ Park Jose Celestino Mutis. This natural park is unlike any other as it is considered the green lungs of the city where you will find all the flora characteristic of the natural beauty found throughout Bogota. This large 50-acre piece of land is divided and organized into different sections where one can observe and experiment the different climates of every region in Colombia.
